EPI Structure Day/Evening Program

EPI Structured Day and Evening Program provides an adult learning setting where people with cognitive impairment due to a brain injury are able to participate in meaningful and life-enhancing activities.

Our community-based program offers an individualized and structured therapeutic environment designed to improve or maintain a person’s skills and ability to live as independently as possible in the community.

Our program enhances functional independent living skills, offers behavioral support, and provides socialization opportunities as well as community integration.

Individualized Program

We are dedicated to meeting each person’s goals — whether they are looking to regain employment, improve cognition or engage in social and leisure activities. We develop a personalized plan with each participant and their family or caregivers.

Plans are based on each participant’s needs and interests, enabling them to strengthen the skills necessary for greater independence and community inclusion. We also review and update each plan regularly to ensure it meets the evolving needs of our participants.

Curriculum and Activities

We have developed group activities with a curriculum to allow for the structure and repetition necessary for people with brain injuries to learn and grow.

Program activities include:

  • Task completion
  • Communication skills
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Socialization
  • Sensory/motor skills
  • Mobility
  • Community transportation skills
  • Computer skills
  • Reading and writing
  • Job readiness skills

Socialization & Community Integration

The inclusion of social and recreational activities is important to the program and schedules are determined by participants’ interests and are driven by our participants’ goals.

Participants in our program actively create the program calendars which often include going to the movies, community events, concerts and going out to lunch or dinner.

A unique feature of our program is that we offer our participants three to four outings per week.

Flexible schedule

Participants in our Structure Day or Evening programs may select their preferred weekly schedule with full flexibility. We offer programs on weekdays and Saturday. Participants may choose day or evening and they may attend from once a week to every day or evening.
