Where are you from? 

I live in Greece now but originally from Export, PA (near Pittsburgh)

Have you always been a chef?  If not, what else have you done? 

Yes, for 26 years.

What was your introduction to cooking/baking?

When I was young, I always liked to cook, bake and make things for my family.  My parents were both stellar cooks.  Mom indoors and Dad was a great outdoor cook.

Where and how did you train?

I went to Westmoreland Country Community College and got my associates degree in Baking and Pastry.  I have also taken some Sugar and Gelato continuing education classes

Do you like cooking at home or prefer someone else to do it?  

I like cooking at home but don’t do much baking.  My husband is a great cook and takes care of the family a lot of evenings while I am at work.

What is your favorite thing to bake?  

I like to bake pies with fresh seasonal fruit and also love to make Ice creams and sorbets.

Is there a chef you admire the most?  Who and why? 

My Executive Chef Ilhan Erkek, he has a wonderful attitude, patient and is a pleasure to work with.

What is your favorite food? 

Potatoes…salty, cheesy, crunchy browned potatoes.

When it comes to working and creativity, are you an early bird or a night owl?

Definitely a night owl,  the alarm clock and I don’t get along very well and thank goodness for espresso.
