What is the Signature Cake Competition Tasting?
It’s the sweetest part of the event! We have invited local pastry chefs to create extraordinary cake creations, inspired by this year’s theme, La Dolce Vita. Guests spend the first 90 minutes of the gala sampling each cake and voting for their favorite. Complimentary champagne and open bar reception drinks and silent auction bidding also takes place at this time. Click here to see a gallery of cakes from previous years.

What is the Live Cake Auction?
The judges will select 8-10 cakes to be raffled off to the highest bidder during a live auction at the end of the evening. Cakes not included in the live auction will be available for purchase via a “cake” pull entry which will also happen at the end of the evening.

If I purchase a cake, can I take it home that evening? Can I have it delivered the next day?
It’s up to you. All chefs have been asked to make preparations for you to box up and bring your cake home that evening. However, we recommend speaking with your chef to make transportation arrangements if your cake is particularly fragile and/or needs to be reassembled upon delivery.

What can I expect in the Silent Auction?
We are planning an outstanding lineup of items and experiences! Click here to visit the Silent Auction page.

What initiatives does the Chocolate Ball support?
Epilepsy Services: The Chocolate Ball is EPI’s biggest fundraising event. Funds raised support children and adults with epilepsy and seizure conditions.
Camp EAGR: The cash call during the evening specifically raises money for Camp EAGR, New York State’s only week-long, overnight camp for children with epilepsy and their siblings. Watch a video about Camp EAGR (right) or experience a week of Camp EAGR in pictures by scrolling through the 2022 gallery.
